Yak Discs

I create Yak Discs for use in promotional giveaways. Bands in the Twin Cities and Eau Claire areas use Yak Discs. I duplicate them localy; you can find out more about my duplication services here.

Philosophy

Flyers no longer serve as a useful promotional item; recipients discard them quickly. The public is more likely to retain the more substantial Yak Discs, especially if they are turned into works of art. Yak Discs are in a sense just CDs, but as more people use them them the name will provide enhanced recognition, serving as a kind of "label" that people seek out. I encourage copying and sharing of Yak Discs whenever possible, allowing fans to actively promote and support their favorite artists.

Archive

I support the activites of The Internet Archive. We have the technology to preserve all valuable data for the future. Some of this data takes the form of live musical recordings. We can shape the future by submitting our own "valuable" data, instead of letting outside authorities choose what is valuable. I submit many Yak Discs to the Internet Archive.
